What will the automation save you?
Drag a slider or type a number. Enter the price of the automation and what the work costs you today, and see when it pays for itself and what you keep over the next 1 to 10 years. Handy for sanity-checking a quote or the numbers in your Discovery Report.
01 · The automation
The build price from your proposal or Discovery Report.
02 · What the work costs you today Fill in either one, or both
Current cost (Hourly)
Staff or owner time spent on the task.
Current cost (Recurring)
A flat monthly amount: an outsourced service, a contractor, a fee, or rework and errors.
03 · Fine-tune (optional)
Most builds don’t remove 100% of the work. 80% is a cautious starting point.
The tools and usage you’ll pay for directly each month. Your proposal lists these.
How fast the costs above rise each year. The 2.5% starting point is the average U.S. consumer price inflation (CPI-U) over the last 30 years, 1995 to 2025. Wages and vendor prices often rise faster than the headline CPI, so raise it if yours do. Set it to 0 to ignore inflation.
Add what the work costs you today.
Enter a cost per hour and hours per week, a monthly cost, or both, and your results appear here.
Estimates only, based on the numbers you enter and 48 working weeks a year. Costs rise each year by the inflation rate you set (the one-time quote does not). The 2.5% default is the compound annual rate of U.S. CPI-U from 1995 (152.4) to 2025 (321.9), per the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Actual results depend on your workflow, volume and how the build is scoped. Cumulative cost counts the one-time quote plus ongoing running costs and any work still done by hand.
